“Cloud Trends for the Enterprise 2016” was held at Pixel in Causeway Bay on 4 March 2016. It was a casual networking event which shared the trends of storage and cloud solutions. The event attracted more than 30 senior level IT professionals to attend.
It was our pleasure to be the supporting organisation. Mr. Emil Chan, the Chairman of ACMCP, was one of our featured speakers. Emil shared the benefits and trends of cloud and mobile computing with some case studies. He also discussed how customer behaviour has changed, especially in using mobile wallet and Internet payment.
Another featured speaker, Mr. Andrew Lo, Senior Sales Manager of SanDisk Enterprise Storage Solutions Sales, explained how data and storage would be like in the future due to data explosion, which caused flash & software-defined storage to grow exponentially and would become the market trend.
Mr. Karel Au, Chief Architect of Cotton Works Limited, as well as the organiser of this event, discussed what a data-driven enterprise is, and what you can do to maintain organisations’ business edge through the use of “data”. Karel also introduced ExaGrid. Its disk backup products with de-duplication allows a reliable, much faster and much more cost-effective back up and restore of data across geo-graphically diverse regions.
The event ended with a lucky draw for a SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick.
